    It focused more on containment; post WW2 was all about stopping communism, ie. Truman’s Doctrine, Marshall Plan, etc. The Vietnam War was a war fought to stop the spread of communism of South Vietnam, which North Vietnam wanted to invade, but it was sort of a lost cause. It’s all about that idea, containment, a special term that is used to describe our diplomacy during that time.
