Computer virus has damaged my hard drive, please help!?

Hi everyone :) I was browsing the internet on my computer when I started getting "warning" messages, saying my files were corrupted and such, and then a program called System Restore appeared on my screen performing a scan which was obviously a fake. I recognised this was malware, and so quickly opened my anti-malware protection, which deleted the virus. On doing this, a window flashed up on my screen saying "Hard Drive Disk Failure" and I realised ALL my files were gone. Everything. I have semi restore my computer, and got back my internet, music and some documents, but for some reason there are several files, which happen to be the most important essays which I require for school are completely gone. I am really upset about this, has anyone experienced anything similar, and more importantly how can I get my work back? Thanks in advance x

depends how bad the virus is..it might not even be that the issue it could be the mother board or the bios..try reformating your computer.

[external link] …free scan for missing files…Ps: If you need a free antivirus program, I would recommend that you try using Microsoft Security Essentials, which can be downloaded from the link below. [external link] you need a free antimalware program, perhaps you should try using MalwareBytes, which can be downloaded from the link below. [external link]

If your hard drive was damaged by a virus you are very unlikely to get ANY of it back.
