Lady Gaga’s image is representing her art through music, and to be yourself. Her outfits teach us that it’s ok to be unique. She teaches us that fame is not needed to be happy.

I like your answer, you’re a smart girl. Nonetheless, the symbolism behind Lady Gaga is pretty scary and dark… Too dark maybe. It symbolises kiping pp in ignorance of their true inner power, of love for the self and others. Just pay a little attention to all the goats in her videos, her hands. Report Abuse

To add to Miss Understood, remember, she went to Sacred Heart. In my experience (having gone to a similar school in NYC), people simply don’t act like that after graduating those schools.Miss Understood said, “It’s basically about being comfortable in your own skin.” This is enforced by her childhood at Sacred Heart, it’s quite unusual that somebody graduates one of those schools should turn out like she did (clothes, occupation, etc)

To me, she stands for freedom of expression. She was an outcast in school who didn’t fit in and felt like a “freak”. She knows that there are a lot of other kids/people out there who feel the same way, so with her crazy hair/makeup/clothes/performances, she’s trying to show them that it’s okay to be different. It’s about thinking outside of the box, being creative, thinking for yourself; following your own heart instead of the crowd. It’s wearing what you want to wear because you want to wear it, regardless of what anyone else thinks about it, etc. She calls her fans her “little monsters” because she believes that everyone has a monster inside of them that society teaches them to repress, but she believes in letting your little monsters out to play every once in a while so they don’t become big monsters that can consume you. It’s about accepting all of your being, the good the bad and the ugly because every part of you makes you you, makes you unique and special. It’s not repressing your true feelings and not hiding your true self because you think others will be afraid of it or won’t understand it because doing so can kill you (during her college years, she tried so hard to fit in that she had a bit of an identity crisis which led to a brief cocaine addiction. Luckily, her family had an intervention and got her cleaned up and now music/performance art is her new outlet). It’s basically about being comfortable in your own skin.

Stefani Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986, in New York City. Playing piano by ear from the age of 4, she went on to write her first piano ballad at 13. At age 11, the singer was set to join Juilliard School in ManhattanShe described herself in high school as very dedicated, very studious and very disciplined. At age 17, Germanotta gained early admission to the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. There, she studied music and improved her songwriting skills. Every day, when Stef came to the studio, instead of saying hello, she would start singing “Radio Ga Ga”. That was her entrance song. [Lady Gaga] ‘Radio’ got changed to ‘Lady’. After that day, she was Lady Gaga. She was known thereafter as Lady Gaga throughout 2007.By 2008, Gaga had relocated to Los Angeles, working closely with her record label to finalize her debut album The Fame. The Fame received mostly positive reviews from critics, according to the music review aggregation of Metacritic, it has received an average score of 71/100.The Fame peaked at number one in Austria, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland, and the top-five in Australia and the United States. She described their relationship and break-up, saying of it, “I was his Sandy, and he was my Danny, and I just broke. She later regretted disclosing her orientation, saying, “I don’t like to be seen as somebody who is using the gay community to look edgy. I’m a free sexual woman and I like what I like. I don’t want people to write that about me because I feel like it looks like I’m saying it because I’m trying to be edgy or underground.Gaga was nominated for a total of nine awards at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards including Video of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video for “Poker Face” and Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Special Effects, Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction for “Paparazzi.” She won the award for “Best New Artist” while her single “Paparazzi” won two awards for “Best Art Direction” and “Best Special Effects. Lady Gaga’s vocals have drawn frequent comparison to Madonna and Gwen Stefani, while the structure of her music is said to be reminiscent of classic 1980s pop and 1990s Europop.
