Is the typical nuclear family under threat in Britain?

I have been given an essay which is titled 'Is The Typical British Family Under Threat In The 21st Century'? I have been told to refer to class and cultural differences and the changing roles within the family. I am really struggling to start this one, and would really appreciate any help from someone who is knowledgeable in this area. Thanks :)
